Lollipop Socks

These are socks I knit with Opal Lollipop yarn in color way #1016. They were knit toe up with a knit 3 purl 2 ribbing all the way from toe to cuff. The colors are way more beautiful than show in this picture.  Posted by Hello

Red Hat Card

This is a thank you card I made for a friend in my Red Hat Society® chapter. I printed the Warning© poem on red scrapbooking paper and then tore around the paper. I stamped the "Red Hat lady" on white cardstock and then colored her in using watercolor pencils and blended that with water. I then embossed around her with purple glittered embossing powder. I cut her out and used foam backed mounting dots to make her stand out, then added a purple feather to her hat.
The "Red Hat lady" is from a Close To My Heart™ set called "Garden Party"

Another CD Cover

click on image for larger version

This is for another CD swap I'm in. The theme for this one is *cover* versions of songs...as in, done by someone other than the original artist. I came up with the idea of making a magazine cover. The adorable rubber stamp is from House-Mouse Designs. There's an old cartoon in which a little mouse named Sniffles was sitting up waiting for Santa Claus, and to pass the time, he was reading "Good Mousekeeping" magazine (and drinking *Haxwell Mouse* coffee!).

Unlike the BKO Lounge one below, these are not individually hand-stamped. I stamped the image onto plain white cardstock and colored it in with chalks and colored pencils. I then scanned the image into my computer, and used Paint Shop Pro to create the *magazine* cover.

CD Cover

I am participating in a CD swap, and I decided to make jewel case inserts for my CD's. The theme of the swap is *the year you were born*...thus *nineteen-sixty* for me!

The kitty was stamped and colored in with pencil...the text was printed on the computer, and everything else is just card stock glued in place.

Cross My Heart

Even though my son is not a member of the
Krafty Kitties blog, he asked me to post a picture of his craft. He is learning the art of stone carving. This is his second project. He carved this cross out of alabaster. He also carved some Greek letters into the cross but they don't show in the picture.

Happy Birthday, Mike!

click for full-sized image

This is the card I made for Mike's birthday, which is on Saturday. I had originally planned to use a different stamp for this, but changed my mind when I got these new ones today from HotPotatoes.com. The pink kitty is called *Missy* and the green one is *Bandit*.

I decided to go with the retro look of these stamps in designing this card. It's not your classic *manly* look, but I think Mike will like it.

Teal cardstock was mounted on a plain white card, and a lighter marbled background paper placed on top of that. If you look at the larger version of the image, you can see that I've discovered watermark ink...the small kitty face was stamped using that. I don't know who makes this little kitty head stamp, but I bought it at a Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft store. Both Missy and Bandit were stamped on pink cardstock and cut out. Missy with black ink...for Bandit, I used a teal brush marker right on the rubber, and stamped it.

The pink and teal shapes were cut from cardstock. The "Happy Birthday" lettering was printed on the computer, using a font called "Girls Are Weird", which I downloaded ages ago from some free font site.

I am very pleased with the way this turned out! :-)

AND...Even More Sox

These are socks I knitted using Lorna's Laces sock yarn in a colorway called Mother Lode. In the photo it looks sort of brown, but it actually has various shades of purple and gold. The cuff is a lace pattern taken from my Sole Solution software, a software program that helps you design your own sock patterns. Unfortunately it doesn't have a name. Here is a close-up of the cuff. Still MORE Joy of Sox!

Marsha knitted these socks for me. Since I am not anywhere near as knowledgeable about knitting as she is, I will let her explain the details!

They are beautiful socks...thank you, Marsha! :-)

*Edited by Marsha*
I knitted these socks for Christine using Reynolds Utopia yarn white with multi-colored dots in pink, blue, green, yellow and orange. The pattern is called a Mock Cable. I added a slip stitch heel. A few months ago, Christine went to Maine and I asked her to pick me up some yarn at a yarn shop in Portland. This was one of the skeins she bought for me. *

A Mother's Day Card

click for larger image

I made this card for my mother-in-law. Blue is her favorite color, plus she loves kitties. I hope she will like it!

The letters are rubber-stamped. Even though I have one of those tools that helps you line up stamps properly, I still didn't feel confident enough to do it. I saw the idea of stamping and then cutting out letters in a rubber-stamping magazine. The kitty and accessries were also rubber-stamped, then colored in with chalk/marker, cut out, and mounted onto the same cardstock on which I stamped the letters.

Underneath it all is a plain ivory card on which I mounted a couple of different background papers that I felt looked well together.
